XRP whales have recently taken advantage of market volatility to aggressively accumulate assets worth billions of dollars, laying the supply foundation for a massive upward rally.
On March 10 (local time), cryptocurrency media outlet Benzinga, citing data from on-chain analytics firm Santiment, reported that large holders secured an additional 4.18 billion XRP following the market crash in October 2025. The so-called smart money group holding between 1 million and 10 million XRP has been identified as the main driver behind this accumulation. The outlet analyzed that the movements of these whales signal strong confirmation of a market bottom and confidence in long-term value appreciation.
As whales absorb supply, market leadership is shifting from retail investors to large asset holders. Whenever retail investors sell amid fear-driven sentiment, major holders have offset selling pressure by accumulating XRP at lower prices. Even as open interest in the futures market remains elevated and volatility expands, steady accumulation in the spot market is serving as a key factor supporting XRP’s downside resilience.
The external market environment also supports the potential for further gains in XRP. After U.S. President Donald Trump signaled easing geopolitical tensions, overall investor sentiment in the digital asset market improved, with Bitcoin (BTC) reclaiming the $70,000 level. Continued inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs have broadened institutional investors’ focus toward leading altcoins, increasing preference for XRP, which offers payment utility. Following Trump’s remarks, the market has entered a phase of stabilization.
Institutional stability and technical scalability within the Ripple network also provide grounds for whale accumulation. The introduction of U.S. cryptocurrency market structure legislation, which enhances legal clarity, has acted as a catalyst for large-scale capital to formally incorporate XRP as an asset class. The stable operation of the RLUSD stablecoin and the expansion of the XRP Ledger’s global payment network demonstrate the asset’s intrinsic value, further strengthening whales’ conviction to hold.
