Ripple has carried out the largest-ever burn of its stablecoin RLUSD, accelerating supply control and technical refinement ahead of its official launch.

According to cryptocurrency media outlet U.Today on March 11 (local time), Ripple recently burned 10 million RLUSD tokens that were being tested in a private beta phase. This burn marks the largest single transaction since RLUSD was issued and is interpreted as a strategic move ahead of its full-scale circulation.

The large-scale burn recorded on on-chain data demonstrates that Ripple is closely inspecting the issuance and burn mechanisms of the stablecoin. Ripple permanently removed 10 million RLUSD by sending them to a designated burn address, thereby proving network stability and regulatory compliance capabilities.

RLUSD is Ripple’s proprietary stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar and is currently undergoing rigorous testing on the Ethereum (ETH) and XRP Ledger networks. Ripple expects RLUSD to complement its existing asset XRP and maximize the efficiency of cross-border remittances.

With the successful completion of this testing phase, Ripple has signaled to the market that RLUSD’s official launch is imminent. The company plans to prioritize transparent reserve management and adherence to regulatory guidelines to expand RLUSD’s utility in the global payments market.
