The Ethereum Foundation has partnered with a nonprofit security organization to build a comprehensive defense system aimed at protecting users from increasingly sophisticated wallet drain attacks and social engineering hacks.

According to reports on February 10 (local time), the Ethereum Foundation formed a partnership with the Security Alliance (SEAL) to strengthen efforts to track and neutralize wallet drainer programs. Through this partnership, the foundation is sponsoring a dedicated security engineer who will work with SEAL’s intelligence team to monitor and defend against malicious attacks targeting Ethereum users in real time.

As part of the collaboration, the two organizations officially launched the “Trillion Dollar Security” dashboard, which provides a comprehensive overview of the Ethereum ecosystem’s security posture. The dashboard tracks security across six dimensions: user experience, smart contracts, infrastructure and cloud, consensus protocols, monitoring and incident response, and social layer and governance. Each category includes dozens of closely monitored risk control items designed to proactively manage vulnerabilities across the entire ecosystem.

According to estimates by blockchain analytics firm ScamSniffer, wallet drainers have stolen approximately $1 billion worth of assets to date. However, thanks to the dedicated efforts of security groups such as SEAL, total losses in 2025 fell sharply to a record low of $84 million. As phishing scammers continue to impersonate well-known protocols through fake websites or emails to trick users into signing seemingly harmless transactions, the importance of professional detection and defense mechanisms has become even more pronounced.

SEAL stated that its collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation could serve as a precedent for expansion into other blockchain ecosystems. The organization explained that its goal is to protect all market participants by providing legal safeguards for white-hat hackers and building collaborative tools for sharing threat intelligence, while leaving the door open for further partnerships with other foundations and ecosystems seeking stronger security. The Ethereum Foundation also expressed strong support on social media, praising SEAL’s achievements and reaffirming its commitment to ongoing investment in ecosystem security.

Through these strengthened security measures, the Ethereum ecosystem has gone beyond a simple technical upgrade to reinforce social and institutional safeguards for user protection. This collaboration to secure assets worth over $1 trillion is expected to become a standard model for the blockchain industry in responding to increasingly advanced hacking techniques. Investors anticipate that ecosystem-level improvements to security infrastructure will enhance Ethereum’s credibility over the long term and play a decisive role in attracting a broader user base.
