Ark Invest, led by Cathie Wood, has reaffirmed its strong conviction in the long-term growth value of innovative technology companies by aggressively purchasing shares of Coinbase and Robinhood during the recent sharp correction in the cryptocurrency market.

According to cryptocurrency-focused media outlet CoinTelegraph on March 3 (local time), Ark Invest significantly added Coinbase and Robinhood shares to its portfolio as heightened market volatility drove down the stock prices of crypto-related companies. CEO Cathie Wood activated her signature strategy of buying the dip, aggressively increasing exposure to platforms leading disruptive innovation. The recent purchases were carried out across Ark Invest’s flagship exchange-traded funds, ARKK, ARKW, and ARKF.

Ark Invest acquired a total of 162,000 shares of Coinbase, valued at approximately $35 million. It also secured more than 253,000 additional shares of Robinhood, signaling a bet on the expanding ecosystem that combines fintech and digital assets. This large-scale capital deployment, executed at a time of heightened market fear, underscores Wood’s conviction that cryptocurrency trading platforms will ultimately establish themselves as core infrastructure within the global financial system.

The cryptocurrency market has recently undergone a correction, with major assets including Bitcoin (BTC) facing price declines amid overlapping geopolitical risks in the Middle East and broader macroeconomic uncertainty. As a result, shares of cryptocurrency exchanges and related fintech companies also fell. However, Ark Invest views this downturn as temporary and is focusing on accumulating shares from a long-term perspective. Wood has assessed that as the digital asset market matures, trading platforms will diversify their revenue structures and directly benefit from increased institutional capital inflows.

Ark Invest has consistently adhered to a strategy of accumulating major technology stocks during market downturns to achieve high returns in subsequent rebounds. Coinbase, in particular, has secured a unique position as the custodian for spot Ethereum ETFs and spot Bitcoin ETFs, making it one of the primary beneficiaries of the institutionalization of digital assets. Robinhood has also steadily increased its cryptocurrency trading share by enhancing accessibility for retail investors, serving as a strategic stronghold within Ark Invest’s portfolio.

Ark Invest’s aggressive moves are reinforcing the perception that the fundamentals of cryptocurrency-related companies remain solid. As institutional dip-buying emerges, related stock prices are gradually stabilizing, and whether the cryptocurrency market stages a full-scale rebound will likely be a key variable determining the performance of Ark Invest’s portfolio. Wood’s firm investment philosophy in innovative technologies continues to present new investment benchmarks amid volatile market conditions.
