Bitwise Asset Management (hereafter Bitwise) has demonstrated corporate social responsibility by delivering its second donation to developers in order to strengthen the technical foundation of the Bitcoin ecosystem.

According to cryptocurrency-focused media outlet Cointelegraph on March 5 (local time), Bitwise donated its annual contribution to Brink, a nonprofit organization that supports core Bitcoin (BTC) developers. The donation was made in line with Bitwise’s pledge to allocate a portion of the revenue generated from its spot Bitcoin ETF to support Bitcoin’s open-source infrastructure. Bitwise previously announced that it would donate 10% of the profits from its spot Bitcoin ETF, BITB, to the Bitcoin development community over the next 10 years.

Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise, emphasized that the dedicated efforts of developers are essential to maintaining the safe and stable operation of the Bitcoin network. “Bitcoin has grown into a global financial infrastructure supporting trillions of dollars in value, and supporting the open-source developers who maintain it is one of Bitwise’s key missions,” Horsley said. Last year, Bitwise also drew industry attention by delivering its first donation to Brink in support of Bitcoin developers.

Brink, which received the donation, provides funding and education to developers working to enhance the security and performance of the Bitcoin protocol. Because Bitcoin is not operated by any central authority, the voluntary participation and contributions of developers around the world are critical to maintaining the network’s reliability. Bitwise’s continued support helps create an environment in which developers can focus solely on technical excellence without external pressures.

Within the digital asset industry, Bitwise’s initiative is being regarded as a model case of establishing a virtuous cycle in which companies that generate profits through crypto-based financial products reinvest in the ecosystem’s development. Since the institutional adoption of spot Bitcoin ETFs, inflows from institutional investors have increased, raising expectations for the network’s technical robustness. Through its donations, Bitwise aims to promote both the long-term value appreciation and technical stability of Bitcoin.
