Despite negative factors such as a sharp price decline and a major bank lowering its target price, massive institutional funds are pouring into spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) for XRP (Ripple), opening what could be a once-in-a-lifetime buying opportunity.

According to investment media outlet TradingNews on March 1 (local time), XRP has remained sluggish, trading around $1.37, down 43% since the beginning of the year. In contrast, however, XRP spot ETFs recorded net inflows of $9.55 million during the week ending February 27, marking four consecutive days of inflows. Bitwise’s XRPI attracted $5.81 million, while Franklin Templeton’s XRPZ brought in $3 million, pushing cumulative inflows to $1.24 billion.

Recently, Standard Chartered lowered its 2026 target price for XRP by 65%, from $8 to $2.80, citing worsening macroeconomic conditions and outflows from Bitcoin (BTC) ETFs. Even so, the revised target still implies a 104% upside from the current price. Meanwhile, six major artificial intelligence models, including ChatGPT, have presented far more optimistic targets ranging from $3 to $10, reinforcing the narrative of an institutional accumulation cycle.

On-chain data is also sending strong bullish signals that contrast sharply with the current price trend. The amount of XRP held on cryptocurrency exchanges has plunged to 1.6 billion tokens, the lowest level in seven years since 2019. This indicates that investors are moving their holdings to private wallets, rapidly reducing the available supply for sale on the market. In addition, the market capitalization of the RLUSD stablecoin has surpassed $1.5 billion, further deepening the use of the Ripple network for cross-border payments.

The outlet analyzed that the current extreme fear and price decline are providing institutional investors with an ideal environment to accumulate assets at discounted levels through regulated ETFs. In a highly asymmetric return structure where even the most pessimistic forecasts anticipate a doubling in price, it emphasized that now is the time to boldly buy into XRP, trusting the structural trend of capital inflows rather than being misled by short-term price collapses.
