Bithumb’s social contribution organization, Bithumb Sharing, has expanded its community-focused social contribution activities in earnest by organizing a spring volunteer sharing event for seniors in the Jeju region.
This initiative marked Bithumb Sharing’s first social contribution program in Jeju. It was designed to directly invite underprivileged seniors in the region to provide meals and experiential programs.
On the 6th, Bithumb Sharing invited 30 underprivileged seniors from eastern Jeju to the Dongjeju Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Gujwa-eup, Jeju City, to host the spring sharing event. The center provides various welfare services to residents in eastern Jeju, and the event was held in cooperation with the institution.
The event primarily targeted seniors living alone who face difficulties traveling due to geographical conditions or limited mobility. Bithumb Sharing supported round-trip transportation using vehicles from the welfare center and deployed on-site staff to ensure safe participation.
A buffet meal featuring sliced raw fish, abalone, LA galbi, boiled pork, and chili shrimp was served. After the meal, a laughter therapy session and a rice cake decorating experience followed. Volunteers printed photos taken with the seniors on the spot using a Polaroid camera and presented them immediately.
Bithumb Sharing also provided hooded zip-up jackets and bedding sets to 30 underprivileged seniors in eastern Jeju to help them maintain their health during the seasonal transition.
A Bithumb Sharing official said, “In cooperation with local welfare institutions, we arranged an opportunity for seniors to share a meal and participate in experiential programs,” adding, “We plan to continue expanding social contribution activities linked with local communities.”
