A Wall Street veteran has issued a strong signal for price appreciation, analyzing that the XRP market has entered the most asymmetric phase of the current cycle.

On March 7 (local time), The Crypto Basic highlighted the XRP price structure and adoption-stage model presented by Wall Street veteran Rob Cunningham. Through this model, Cunningham explained how XRP’s price evolves as it transitions from a purely speculative asset into global financial infrastructure. He diagnosed that the market is currently at a critical inflection point, moving beyond simple accumulation into the stage of real infrastructure utilization.

According to Cunningham’s analysis, XRP’s valuation process is divided into five stages. After passing Stage 1, the speculative discovery phase, the market enters Stage 2, the institutional validation phase, where large pools of capital such as asset managers and hedge funds begin absorbing supply. During this process, exchange reserves decline while institutions show a strong tendency toward long-term holding, leading to tightening market liquidity.

Stage 3 is the infrastructure adoption phase, when banks and payment networks utilize XRP for actual settlement and liquidity operations. Cunningham emphasized that “at this stage, a functional requirement emerges for the value per token to rise in order to support global transaction volume.” After progressing through Stage 4, national and currency integration, and ultimately reaching Stage 5, the civilizational infrastructure phase, XRP would operate behind the scenes as a core rail of global finance.

The XRP market is currently positioned in the transition between Stages 2 and 3, which Cunningham describes as the most asymmetric point in the cycle. Data supports this view, with institutional demand surging while exchange balances have fallen to multi-year lows. Growing interest in asset tokenization and stablecoin infrastructure also suggests that XRP may be approaching a restructuring of its price framework.

The value of infrastructure assets does not rise solely on investor expectations but adjusts to meet real economic demand. Cunningham defined speculation as the process of asking what an asset is worth, whereas infrastructure adoption determines what price is required for the asset to function. If XRP establishes itself as an essential component of global finance, its current pricing structure may prove insufficient to support future liquidity demands.
